Georgia State University College of Law students are invited to compete in an art contest to decorate the construction fence at the college’s new building site, 85 Park Place. The contest is sponsored by site manager McCarthy Building Co. and carries a $1,500 award. Submissions will be accepted through 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6.

ATLANTA — Georgia State University and its College of Law will commemorate the groundbreaking of its new building at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 12, at the corner of John Wesley Dobbs Avenue and Park Place.

The location of the new building is located at the corner of Park Place and John Wesley Dobbs Avenue, faced to the west by the Candler Building and to the north by the Georgia Pacific Center. The college’s footprint will follow roughly the outline of the existing parking lot. See photos after the jump.
The state of Georgia sold $685 million in general obligation bonds to fund new construction projects, including the new Georgia State University College of Law building and to repair and renovate existing facilities throughout the state.
